Established in 1932, The Gondwana Club is located atop Seminary Hills, a commanding site overlooking the city of Nagpur. Spread across 8 acres and surrounded by forest and the remnants of a golf course, the club offers a majestic ambience free from noise and pollution, while still being conveniently located within the city. Its expansive main lawn, with an enviable scenic view, can accommodate more than 2,000 members.

The primary objective of the club is to provide facilities for sports, games, and healthy recreation. To encourage participation, all sports facilities are offered free of charge to members. The club features an air-conditioned billiards room with three tables, “The Addiction” card room, facilities for table tennis, chess, and other indoor games, as well as a library. The club’s four busy tennis courts are floodlit, and the swimming pool, equipped with a modern filtration system and clean dressing rooms, also includes a separate children’s pool with coaching facilities.
Matches and competitions in billiards, snooker, and bridge are organized regularly and are open to participants beyond the club’s membership. Among the most popular events are the state-level tennis tournaments recognized by Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA) and All India Tennis Association (AITA). The club has also hosted international billiards and snooker players, as well as national-level bridge players, all of whom have appreciated the excellent facilities.
The club additionally offers a lounge, TV room, dining hall with kitchen facilities, air-conditioned bars, and a state-of-the-art pub, one of its kind in Nagpur. Membership to the club is highly selective and restricted. The management of the club is overseen by a Managing Committee elected annually.
The Gondwana Club also enjoys affiliations with several well-known clubs in India and abroad.
